Volunteering lowers hypertension

Seniors can lower their blood pressure by volunteering more than 200 hours each year.

The Carmellon University study found older adults reduced their chances of hypertension by up to 40% through volunteering.

Socialising and being active in the community is crucial to the findings, not the type of volunteering activity.
