Worried you’re missing something? You might have FoMO

Researchers at the University of Essex have found people under 30 years old have the highest rates of the new phenomenon “fear of missing out”.

Those with “fear of missing out”, or FoMO, worry others may be having more fun and rewarding experiences than them and want to be continuously connected with them through means such as social media.

The researchers hope this study will prompt further investigation into FoMO and the effect it has on wellbeing.
