Crab claw keeps crustaceans cool

A male fiddler crab’s oversized claw has be found to help it regulate its body temperature

Researchers placed crabs under a hot light and took their temperatures.

Crabs missing their large claw reached higher temperatures than intact crabs.

The large claw is also used in mating displays and to intimidate competitors.
