Lake Eyre region to get hotter, drier

South Australia’s Arabunna region, which encompasses Lake Eyre, could increase in average temperature by up to 4 degrees Celsius this century.

This could threaten the survival of many plants and animals, and may occur in a series of “jumps,” opposed to occurring gradually.

Traditional owners and university researchers are attempting to develop a plan to enable the region to cope with the change in climate.
