Mistletoe could provide alternative treatment for colon cancer

Mistletoe could potentially provide an alternative or complementary treatment to chemotherapy for colon cancer.

Research found that one type of mistletoe extract, from a species grown on ash trees, was was more potent against cancer cells than the chemotherapy drug.

The Fraxini mistletoe extract was also gentler on healthy intestinal cells than chemotherapy, meaning it could have fewer side effects.
