Mum’s the word, sometimes

Pregnant women may not always be supported by medical staff when it comes to decisions about their unborn child, according to new research.

The study found midwives and doctors were willing to override the decisions of expecting parents if they put their unborn child at risk.

The findings raise questions about the need for guidelines on decision-making in pregnancy for doctors and midwives.
