New bioengineered molecule may help fight colon cancer

Scientists from two universities have bioengineered a molecule that may help fight colon cancer.

Human Alpha-lactabumin Made Lethal to Tumour (HAMLET) cells were fed to mice, genetically modified to have colon cancer, who showed reduced levels of tumours in their body as a result.

HAMLET uses a natural protein found in human breast milk to kill tumours.
