Programme Officer, SSC Small Mammal Specialist Group, International Union for the Conservation of Nature

I am the Programme Officer for the IUCN SSC Small Mammal Specialist Group, hosted by Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

In 2022 I completed my PhD at the University of Reading, funded by the People’s Trust for Endangered Species and the British Hedgehog Preservation Society. I studied the ecology and conservation of West European Hedgehogs in urban areas, with particular reference to (1) habitat use (and on a finer scale, garden use) by hedgehogs, (2) activity patterns over-winter, (3) nesting in artificial refuges, and (4) householder engagement in improving garden connectivity for hedgehogs.
