Abiodun Olusola Omotayo

Senior lecturer/researcher, North-West University

Abiodun Olusola Omotayo is academic, senior researcher and practically experienced National Research Foundation-NRF-C - rated researcher/scientist in the field of agricultural economics at the North West University, South Africa. He is also a recognised Expert - the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Inclusive Policy Lab and a fellow at the African Studies Centre, Leiden, the Netherlands. A.O. Omotayo is a member, Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Collaborator Network, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), University of Washington and Global Assessor- Reviewer panel for grant applications submitted for the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, United Kingdom (RSTMH). He is also an Alumni-member- Climate Governance, Diplomacy and Negotiations Leadership Program. The scholar is currently an Alumni-member; DAAD Alumni Deutschland-Germany. He is presently a visiting Professor at the Innovation Lab for Policy Leadership in Agriculture & Food Security (PiLAF) University of Ibadan, Nigeria and collaborator with other academic, research and development institutions. A.O. Omotayo has over 15 years of professional research and lecturing experience with focus on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He has contributed to the UN’s Sustainable targets in Africa through the application of applied economics. His research engagements specifically have implications across agricultural economics, climate change, food-nutrition security, environmental, health and welfare economics out of which has benefited from different funding institutions (AERC, DAAD, AgriSETA, NRF etc.) and published extensively (Over 100 articles) with respectable high impact journals in his field of expertise. Dr A.O. Omotayo has also supervised many Masters and Doctoral research dissertations to completion. He currently serves as section editor for three respectable high impact international journals and frequently serves as reviewer and assessor for several high impact journals and funding institutions. Besides contributing to the research community, he voluntarily contributes and add value to different think-thanks organisations through community and rural engagement and development activities in Africa.
