My career has been in criminal justice, prisons and criminology and I continue to maintain an interest in justice and penal affairs in Scotland. For much of my life I have been a collector of early Penguin Books (1935-c.1960) and from this has evolved a reference web site penguinfirsteditions.com - so I have swapped a physical collection for a virtual one! That got me interested in why some people collect Penguin Books - something I am now researching at Stirling University's Centre for International Publishing and Communication.
