Alex Kazaglis works on the economics and policy of climate change in the UK and Australia.
He is a Senior Analyst at the UK Government's statutory advisors on climate change, the Committee on Climate Change, where he leads the analysis on the power sector, and has previously led on the buildings sector, industry and competitiveness work streams. Until recently he was Director at Australia's Climate Change Authority, working on a major review of Australia's emissions reduction targets.
He is also an MSc project supervisor at Imperial College. The current project is to develop a 2050 decarbonisation pathways calculator for Australia.
Before this he advised Australian state and federal goverments on water policy, investment in supply side infrastructure and drought response strategies, and worked for the EU as a technical consultant on decentralised sanitation solutions in India.
He has qualifications in environmental policy and development from LSE, and engineering and maths from UNSW.
