Alice Richardson

Associate professor, Australian National University

I studied at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, then at the Australian National University, Canberra. My PhD was on the statistical properties of robust methods of estimation for multilevel linear models.

I have twenty years of experience in teaching undergraduate statsitics at the nUiversity of Canberra. During that time I aso collaborated on quantitative research projects in every Faculty of the University. In 2016 I took up a position as biostatistician at the National Centre for Epidemiology & Population Health at the Australian National University. In 2019 i became the Director of the ANU Statistical Consulting Unit, which provides statistical support to researchers across the University.

My research interests are in linear models and robust statistics; statistical properties of data mining methods; applications of statstical methods to large data sets especially in population health and the biomedical sciences; and innovation in statistics education.
