Alicia Heys

I am a Lecturer in Modern Slavery at the Wilberforce Institute which is part of the University of Hull. I am a Fellow at the Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre where I lead a research stream investigating the legal enforcement of modern slavery. I have published on various issues relating to modern slavery, including child soldiers, the vulnerabilities created by conflict, the experiences and needs of British victims, how storytelling can frame a victim's memories, and the links between historic and contemporary slavery. I also work closely with practitioners through my role as Chair of the Humber Modern Slavery Partnership.
