Andrea de Silva-Sanigorski

Associate Professor, Prevention and Intervention Research, The University of Melbourne

Associate Professor de Silva-Sanigorski is committed to undertaking rigorous research with high utility for policy makers, decision makers and practitioners.

Andrea leads a number of high profile national and State initiatives as well as having an editorial role in the international Public Health group of the Cochrane Collaboration. Andrea has a multi-disciplinary skill base, being trained in basic science, molecular biology, nutrition, epidemiology and public health.

Andrea has extensive experience with large and complex community-based interventions, project management, evaluation and Cochrane systematic reviews. She has developed a deep understanding of what is required for working with and building partnerships between researchers, decision-makers, health service providers, educators and health promoters within government and non-government organisations, and Andrea has also been involved in many capacity building activities and training courses for a variety of professional groups.
