Visiting Professor, Public Policy, King's College London

Andrew MacLeod is an accomplished organisational leader. His career has spanned humanitarian, government and business, always focussed on the interface between corporations, government and communities, finding ways to solve large-scale challenges.

Professor MacLeod is the Managing Director of Good Super in Australia, a Non Executive Director for New York based Cornerstone Capital, a Senior Adviser to Homestrings plc in London, Chair of the Advisory Board at Gravitas Capital, a visiting Professor at Kings College London and an Adjunct Senior lecturer at University of Tasmania Law School.

MacLeod also acts as an advisor to Gane Energy Australia, is an Affiliate Senior Associate to the Center for Strategic International Studies in Washington DC and advisor to the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board. He assists numerous charities including The Big Issue (Australia), Swags for the Homeless and the Victorian Youth Mentoring Alliance. He maintains a Commission as an Australian Army Officer (reserve).

Previously he was General Manager Community, Communications and External Relations for Rio Tinto (Copper), CEO of the Committee for Melbourne and a Senior United Nations and International Committee for the Red Cross humanitarian official. He was also a member of the Steering Committee of the World Economic Forum ‘Future of Civil Society’ project and the Kings College Humanitarian Futures project.

When at the UN MacLeod’s work included Chief of Operations for the 2005 South Asian Earthquake relief and reconstruction operation, spending 2 ½ years between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. MacLeod ensured smooth integration between foreign aid operations and areas under Pakistan military and non-military control. For the International Committee of the Red Cross MacLeod undertook similar roles in Rwanda and former Yugoslavia during the 1990’s.
