Andrew Owen, PhD FSB is a Professor in the Department of Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool, UK. He is also affiliated to the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science and the Wolfson Centre for Personalised Medicine.

Professor Owen has contributed to over 100 original research and review publications, book chapters and patent applications. In recent years, research funding has been secured from the Medical Research Council, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, US National Institutes of Health and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

He is Chair of the British Society for Nanomedicine (www.BritishSocietyNanomedicine.org), a fellow of the Society of Biology and a member of the Nanomed Focus Group Steering Committee, British Pharmacological Society and Critical Path to TB Drug Regimens.

He is also a member of the editorial board for Nanomedicine: nanotechnology, biology and medicine.
