Andy has a background in climate policy and has worked on solar geoengineering for over a decade. From 2008 to 2012 he was a Senior Policy Adviser at the Royal Society and led the production of the Society's seminal Geoengineering the Climate report. He moved into academia in 2012 to research the governance of solar geoengineering as a Research Fellow, first at the Harvard Kennedy School then the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies in Potsdam. He is currently an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol and he works full time directing the Solar Radiation Management Governance Initiative. This is an international non-governmental project that seeks to build developing country capacity to evaluate solar geoengineering.
