Anindita Chakrabarti

Teaching Fellow in Economics, University of Leeds

Anindita Chakrabarti is a teaching fellow in economics at the University of Leeds and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

She completed her PhD in economics at the Centre for Economic Studies and Planning at JNU, New Delhi, India. Her main research interest is health economics, particularly evaluating the importance of socio-economic factors in explaining utilisation of maternal and child health care services in India. She also is interested in the importance of healthcare financing, particularly the importance of community-based heath insurance services as a source of financing private healthcare services among the rural community in India.

Prior to joining Leeds University she worked in the faculty at the Madras School of Economics, Chennai, India, and at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India.
