Annette Rome is the Director of Staff Learning at Methodist Ladies’ College, Melbourne. Prior roles include Director of the Wesley College Institute for Innovation in Education and a range of leadership positions in schools across Melbourne. She is involved in a number of educational teams including the CSE International Education Action Group, Indigenous Education Focus Group and The University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education. She has written a number of science and education books and resources and presents frequently at conferences nationally and internationally. Previously she sat on the Science Teachers Association of Victoria Council and worked with the Orica Corporate Affairs Division for a number of years. She is the 2010 - 2011 holder of an International Baccalaureate (IB) Jeff Thompson Research Award and in 2011 was admitted as a Fellow to the Australian College of Educators and the Australian Council of Educational Leaders. She has organised a large number of educational events including colloquia, national and international conferences and educational forums. She is currently an active member of the James Macready-Bryan Foundation and a Director of The Songroom and The Australian College of Educators
