In 2009, I paused my clinical training in obstetrics and gynaecology to move to the UK to undertake a PhD in Perinatal Epidemiology at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. I returned to Melbourne in 2012 to continue specialist training and completed my PhD in perinatal epidemiology concurrently, ultimately submitting my thesis in 2013. I finished specialist training in 2017 and have since held dual appointments as a consultant Obstetrician at the Mercy Hospital for Women and Senior Lecturer in perinatal epidemiology at the University of Melbourne. I also work as a consultant gynaecologist in the Family Planning Unit at Austin Health. My current research portfolio focusses on investigating the perinatal and childhood outcomes following various exposures ('events in pregnancy', medications used etc) in pregnancy. I currently hold an NHMRC Ideas grant aimed at investigating the perinatal and childhood impacts of adjunct medication use in IVF. I am passionate about women's health and am committed to performing and fostering high quality research that contributes to better outcomes for women and children.
