PhD student in Biology, University of Rochester

Anwesha is a current PhD student in Biology, working on the cancer genetics of breast cancer. Her work involves understanding the unique molecular signaling circuitry of cancer cells and exploiting that to form a cancer-specific therapy that does not affect normal cells.

Starting as a student journalist at the Telegraph in Schools for six years, Anwesha has always participated in science communication through conferences, presentations and blogging. She has been the Communications Chair and Academic Officer of the Graduate Student Association at University of Rochester, coordinating the conference travel awards and serving as a grant reviewer.

She is currently interning at the Press Office for the University of Rochester and attempting to break into the world of science writing.
