Aqida Nuril Salma

I am a doctoral candidate in comparative politics and media studies at Goethe University Frankfurt, where my research focuses on political communication and protest politics in a comparative perspective, with a special focus on the study of Islamists and the far right. I have also received education in European media studies through the Erasmus program at the University of Salzburg, as well as transdisciplinary studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Alongside my PhD, I am currently serving as a fellow at Cornell University, Mercatus Center at George Mason University, Center of Muslim Politics and World Society Studies (COMPOSE) at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Indonesian International Islamic University (UIII), Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies, and lecturer at the School of Communication and Business, Telkom University, Indonesia. Some sections of my dissertation have been presented and discussed at prestigious academic conferences and workshops organized by ICA, AoIR, APSA, Cornell, KITLV, and ISEAS, among others.
