Assistant Professor in International Relations, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur

I currently work as an assistant professor at the Department of International Relations, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jawa Timur. I am also a researcher at the Center for Identity and Urban Studies (CENTRIUS). As an academic, I am interested in researching low political issues such as paradiplomacy and sports politics.

I earned my bachelor's degree in International Relations at Universitas Gadjah Mada in 2015. I earn my master's degree in International Relations at the University of Sydney in 2017 sponsored by the Education Endowment Fund Scholarship from the Government of Indonesia. In 2022, I earned my doctoral degree in Social Sciences (with a specialisation in International Relations) at Universitas Airlangga. My dissertation was about the evolving role of cities in modern diplomacy.

Since September 2017, I have been teaching several undergraduate courses such as Diplomacy, Paradiplomacy, Glocalisation, and Theories of International Relations. Outside my academic activities, I also co-founded an annual cultural event called the Surabaya Language Festival, which was granted the Australian Awards Alumni Grant Scheme in 2020 and 2021.
