Aritz Ruiz-González is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Experimental and Social Sciences Education (Faculty of Education and Sport, UPV/EHU, Spain). He received his Ph.D. degree in Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of the Basque Country in 2011. He has previously conducted her research work at Dpt. of Zoology and Animal Cell Biology (UPV/EHU) on biodiversity and wildlife genetics, with special emphasis on how ancient and contemporary processes shape genetic variation. He has published more than 40 JCR papers (H Index=17). Nowadays, he is focused on science education research, being her main interests: pre-service science teacher education; education for sustainability; biodiversity education, and design-based research. He is a former member of the Conservation genetics laboratory (ISPRA, Italy) and “Systematics, biogeography and population dynamics” research group (UPV/EHU). Currently, he is a member of the Research Group STEMER, which brings together a diverse group of faculty and staff members interested in research on teaching and learning in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
