Postdoctoral research fellow, UNSW Sydney

Dr Arne Ittner is an early career neuroscientist. Currently, Arne is appointed as an Alzheimer’s Australia Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellow (2015-2016). Arne is supervising a subunit of the Dementia Research Unit (DRU) at the School of Medical Sciences (UNSW Australia). His program of research focuses on molecular mechanisms in neuronal function and cognition relevant to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other forms of neurological disorders.

Arne has over 10 years of experience as a researcher in biochemistry and molecular biology. Arne received his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich with work on signal transduction in immune cells. Afterwards, he joined the team of DRU in Sydney.

Arne was awarded research grants from the Australian Research Council, Alzheimer's Australia Dementia Research Foundation and the National Health and Medical Research Council.
