Ben is a Jagera man from the south of Meanjin (Brisbane). He is connected and obligated to Country around Brewarrina, Mungo, and the Central Coast of NSW.

He has extensive experience as a high school teacher, a cultural and community educator, and a university lecturer. He is a former national facilitator of the Stronger Smarter Leadership Program and is the director of Ben Wilson Consultancy, a firm specialising in Indigenous knowledge systems and cultural renewal and change.
