Bothwell Manyonga

Postdoctoral research fellow, University of South Africa

Bothwell completed BA (Sociology and Psychology) at Africa University (Zimbabwe), Master's (Development Studies) at University of KwaZulu Natal, and PhD (Development Studies) at the University of the Free State, South Africa. Bothwell’s PhD research focused on broader debates on the purposes and practices of teaching and learning in higher education, particularly on how curriculum and pedagogy contributes to human development through expanding people’s capabilities and agency. His research interests and upcoming publications continue to focus on the relationships between knowledge, work, society and capabilities formation, particularly for students living with disabilities in both contact and open and distance learning.
