Assistant Professor of Psychology, University at Albany, State University of New York

My research explores the relationship between imagination, empathy, altruism, and morality. Reflecting my cross-area interests and the quality of my work are the caliber and variety of journals in which I publish (e.g., Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Psychological Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Cognition, Journal of Experimental Psychology: LMC, Social Cognitive Affective Neuroscience).

While my research is beginning to have an impact in academia, I have also made efforts to engage a the general public, consulting with PBS, writing for Scientific American, and recording a piece for NPR's Academic Minute.
