I am an Associate Professor in the QUT School of Law. My research expertise is in human rights law, particularly environmental rights. I completed my PhD at Monash University in 2015, which explored the right to a healthy environment in international law and its implications for climate change. Prior to that I completed a Master of Laws in Human Rights Law at the University of Nottingham (2006), and I have a BA/LLB from the University of Queensland (2003).
I have published widely on the right to a healthy environment, the relationship between human rights and climate change, and the rights of future generations. My current research topics include climate adaptation and disaster recovery, and the application of Queensland's Human Rights Act to fracking and other unconventional natural resource extraction practices.
