Bryan is an online academic teacher in politics at Swinburne University Online. His research focuses on the politics of the USA, and is currently undertaking his PhD, examining the vote value of American political dynasties. His previous research includes, 'Examining the Political Influence of Alice Roosevelt Longworth' (2010), and 'An Oral History Project with the Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, The Hon. Ken Smith, MLA' (2011). In 2016, he was a presenter and discussant at the IPSA World Congress of Political Science in Poznan, Poland.
