Lecturer in Nursing, Western Sydney University

Bryce has a clinical background spanning nearly thirty years, with a specialisation in cognitive human factors and organisational studies. He has worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer and program director in two Sydney universities. His teaching brings together an unusual combination of leadership, project management, team communication, design thinking, critical care nursing and healthcare facility design. Recently he was engaged as a workplace design consultant on projects for new hospital facilities and innovative learning environments in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Bryce's approach is that of a generalist, working across professions and disciplinary boundaries to help people make sense of the workplace and the complexity of work. He holds an honours degree from the University of Sydney in Medieval Philosophy. His thinking is closely informed by the writing and ideas of the American educationalist and philosopher of communication, John Dewey. Bryce has studied design theory at a masters level and is completing a PhD on 'sense making among clinical teams' at the University of Western Sydney.
