Associate Professor, La Trobe University

Associate Professor Catherine Lang's research focus since 1996 has focused on the under-representation of women in ICT, an area which was also the focus of her PhD. She was a Chief investigator in the ARC Funded research project “Digital Divas”, developing and implementing a curriculum initiative for secondary school girls. Catherine was ACM-W Australian Ambassador from 2005-2011 and is active in the Women in Computing community in Australia and internationally. In 2011 and 2012 Catherine was involved in developing the Graduate Certificate in Educational technologies for in-service teachers with a particular focus on the learner-centred classroom. She moved to the School of Education at La Trobe University in 2013. She represents the College of ASSC on Academic Board and is the Director, Engagement and Professional Partnerships. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Education (Geography/History), a Graduate Diploma in Education (Computers in Education) a Master of Education (Research) and a PhD from the Centre for the Studies of Higher Education, University of Melbourne.
