Catherine Sutherland

I majored in mathematics and geography and have undertaken all my post-graduate studies in geography and environmental science/management. I have been an academic at the University of KwaZulu-Natal since 1995 and am an Associate Professor in the School of Built Environment and Development Studies. I am also an Associate of the WASH R&D Centre at UKZN. I serve on an specialist rating assessment panel for the National Research Foundation, which rates South African academics. I am also the Academic Leader of Research and Higher Degrees in the School of Built Environment and Development Studies.
