Dr Cecil Mlatsheni is a senior lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town. He is a research associate at the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU). His research interests include labour market analysis broadly, with a particular focus on youth transitions from schooling to work. He has served as a principal investigator on the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS) and as a commissioner on the Employment Conditions Commission (ECC) at the Department of Labour.
