Director, Nottingham Institute of Education, Nottingham Trent University

After training as a physicist and carrying out research in astrophysics I spent 25 years teaching science, including 13 years leading secondary schools in Lincolnshire, before joining NTU. I am currently Associate Professor of Education Policy and Practice, and Director of Nottingham Institute of Education, with oversight of academic studies in education courses, as well as teacher training in all its guises. Professional interests include school leadership and accountability, science education, and change management.
