I am an assistant professor of political science at the University of Tennessee. Before Tennessee. I study how poverty and poor mental health shape the way ordinary citizens think about and engage with politics. My research has been funded by the Russell Sage Foundation and published in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Journal of Epidemiology, American Sociological Review, Policy Studies Journal, Political Behavior, Political Psychology, State Policies and Policy Quarterly, and more.
