Claire is a Research Associate at the Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP) at Loughborough University where she plays a central role in the Minimum Income Standards research. In addition to her work on MIS Claire is a co-investigator of research establishing retirement living standards in the UK. She has also has undertaken qualitative research investigating Minimum Income Standards for people with visual impairment and has also worked on the MIS in London research undertaken by CRSP.
Claire holds a PhD in Social Statistics from the University of Manchester. Her doctoral thesis comprised an investigation of gender role attitude change over time and comparison of welfare state regimes across Europe.
