David Jackson

Dave Jackson has been teaching Screenwriting & Creative Writing at Liverpool John Moore’s University at BA and postgraduate levels since 2000. But has been writing and performing with various post-punk bands since 1980, including The Room, Benny Profane, Dead Cowboys and currently The Room in the Wood. His PhD thesis ‘Violet City: Personal & Cultural Mythologies in the Development of A Fantasy Novel’ was completed in 2010 and the novel (published by Mediadtome in 2017) was adapted by Jackson with director John Maxwell for a low-budget feature released through Amazon Prime, Vudu and iTunes in 2016. His research interests are in weird fiction, screen narrative, popular culture and songwriting. The Room in the Wood’s debut album will be released on vinyl, CD and digital formats on 8/6/18 on A Turntable Friend records.
