David Kainer

I am currently in the final period of my PhD research, with a focus on understanding the genetics that underpins variation in eucalyptus oils. The application of genetic knowledge and bioinformatic techniques helps breeders to improve the way they select elite lines, resulting in plantations with increased yield and competitiveness.

Prior to my PhD I was a computer engineer and founder of two startups in the mobile software sector in Sydney (Viva La Mobile and Tapit).
