Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, University of Windsor

Marquardt is an Assistant Professor at the University of Windsor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and is cross-appointed in the Department of Physics. He served a two year postdoc (2014-2016) at the University of Graz Institute of Molecular Biosciences (Biophysics Division) in the laboratory of Dr. Georg Pabst and six month postdoc at Oak Ridge National Laboratory & the University of Tennessee prior to starting the University of Windsor in 2017.

He is an active member of the Canadian Neutron Initiative working group, which is a pan-Canadian initiative to develop and implement a national neutron strategy following the loss of Canada’s primary neutron source. He has played an active role within the Canadian neutron scattering community for over a decade and is currently a board member of the Canadian Institute for Neutron Scattering (CINS) and a former Science Council member. Marquardt is a frequent user of SANS and other neutron techniques at Canadian and international neutron scattering facilities, and has held two short-term appointments at major neutron sources in Canada and the United States.
