Senior Researcher in Educational Sociology at the Environmental Learning Research Centre, Rhodes University

I am currently a co-director of the One Ocean Hub, a global transdisciplinary research project in transforming Ocean governance, with my particular focus on tangible and intangible heritage, customary law, and transgressive approaches to transdisciplinary scholar activism in response to social justice critiques of the blue economy. I have a split site PhD in Environmental Education and Art, within Social Learning, Social Sculpture and Ecological Citizenship. I have completed a 5 year post doc in Transgressive Social Learning, www.transgressivelearning.org

I have a masters in Environmental Science with a focus on Sustainable Rural Development, and an Honours Degree in Environmental Science, with a focus on Indigenous Knowledge Systems and bio-cultural diversity. I have an undergraduate degree in Zoology, Ichthyology and Environmental Science.
