Before retirement I reached the position of Deputy Principal in a large local primary school in a regional town 160 kms south of Sydney. I hold the degrees of B.A M.Ed.Admin Grad Dip Aboriginal Studies. I continued to teach as a casual for 15 years after retiirement as I had had a very varied educational career that included teaching overseas and working for the Department of Education in Inservice Education and Curriculum Development.

I am very active in my local community, serving in numerous organisations. I sometimes wonder how I ever had time to work! I am an avid reader and re-reader of books in a range of genres. I tend to purchase books rather than use the local library which makes storage a problem.

I am also a lover of classical music, having subscribed to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra ever since the Opera House opened. I sing in a local community choir and support our local Eisteddfod and the Youth Orchestra.

Living in a regional town is a great joy which I highly recommend to others looking for less stress in their lives from a lengthy daily commute to work. Everything I could want to do: mountains, river, beach and bush is no more than 20 - 30 minutes away or a little longer for the Highlands.
