Lecturer in the Department of Education, University of York

Eleanor Brown is a lecturer in the Department of Education, University of York. She is a member of the Centre for Research on Education and Social Justice. Her research interests lie in international development and global citizenship education, post-development, social justice, dialogic teaching and critical thinking. She teaches on the undergraduate BA programme and supervises Masters' and PhD students. She is a member of the British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE) and recently chaired the conference committee for Comparative Education and Development Alternatives conference. She is currently working on projects on the role of Buen Vivir in conceptions of development, and on the implementation of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) relating to sustainable energy production and new technologies in rural communities.
