Elise Chenier grew up in and as a white Anglo-Canadian. She is a radical queer feminist whose work concerns the history of sexuality at the intersection of race and gender. She is an oral historian and founder of the Archives of Lesbian Oral Testimony, which can be found at www.alotarchives.org. She has published numerous articles for both scholarly and popular audiences, and is a frequent public speaker in Canada and the United States.
