Senior Lecturer in Politics, Goldsmiths, University of London

I have published widely on issues of women's representation including analysis of institutional and systemic barriers to gender parity and on UK political parties and elections. My book Gender and the Liberal Democrats was published by Manchester University Press in 2011 and provides a feminist analysis of the party's response to the issue of women's representation.

I am currently working on a comparative project exploring third wave feminism in the UK and US. This research is both theoretical and empirical, providing a critical analysis of third wave concepts and ideas alongside interviews and focus groups conducted with feminist activists in the UK and US. The research focuses on four key strands: sexual politics; political representation; feminist identity and feminist activism. The research will be published as a monograph by Palgrave in 2014.

I am a co-convenor of ECPG, the ECPR's standing group on gender and politics http://standinggroups.ecpr.eu/gender/?page_id=4 and Treasurer of the the PSA Women and Politics Group http://psawomenpolitics.wordpress.com/
