Assistant Professor of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine, University of Pittsburgh

I am an Assistant Professor of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am also a core faculty member in the Clinical Research, Investigation, and Systems Modeling of Acute Illness (CRISMA) Center in the Department of Critical Care, where I contribute to the Translational and Clinical Science (TraCS) program. My research focuses on the diagnosis and management of early sepsis during prehospital and emergency care - particularly the development of diagnostic and treatment models, including clinical decision support using machine learning, to guide early sepsis identification and treatment.

I have been awarded grant funding from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to study prehospital identification and treatment of sepsis. I am also an invited speaker for various national organizations including the Society of Critical Care Medicine and AI Med. I have published several manuscripts, editorials and book chapters on sepsis, critical care medicine and prehospital care.
