Dr Eric Hetzler is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire, UK. His dissertation, “The Actor’s Experience” led to several publications examining how actors describe emotion in performance and the importance of awareness on stage. His most recent paper, appearing in Stanislavski Studies, “Emotion Memory: ‘A Dangerous Reputation’”, examines the origins of the belief that Emotion Memory is a harmful practice. He has a two-part series coming out that shows how the work of Stanislavski has been hidden in current acting texts which, it is argued, diminishes the importance of his work.
