Espen Stranger-Johannessen

Espen Stranger-Johannessen is a teacher by training and is currently pursuing a PhD in Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. His current work is on the African Storybook (http://africanstorybook.org/) and teacher identity. He is the editor for the African Storybook Research Network (http://research.africanstorybook.org/), a public scholar, and a board member of Under the Reading Tree, an NGO that supports community libraries in Uganda. His research interests include language and literacy education, development education, identity, and community libraries.
