Fernando Mata is a social demographer and current associate faculty with the School of Sociological and Anthropological Studies at the University of Ottawa. During his academic and public service life in the Departments of Canadian Heritage, Justice Canada, and Immigration and Citizenship Canada he has published various works on topics related to multiculturalism, immigration, ethnicity, race relations, and social capital in Canada.
