Francisco Javier Cantos Aldaz

Profesor Asociado del Departamento de Pedagogía y Didáctica de las Ciencias Sociales, la Lengua y la Literatura, Universitat Jaume I

Degree in Geography and History from the University of Valencia. He has the Research Proficiency, in addition to the Master's Degree in Documentation Sciences, both from the University of Valencia. Doctorate in Peace, Conflict and Democracy and International Humanitarian Aid Diploma from the Jaume I University and on EU Cooperation Policies by the Complutense University of Madrid. Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Cultural Policies from the University of Barcelona and Specialist Public Management by the FEMP of Madrid.

Among others, he has been awarded a scholarship by the Heritage Service of the Culture Department of the Generalitat Valenciana, by the Provincial Council of Castellón, and by the Carolina Foundation, in the research and permanent training program, developing his work in the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) in Guatemala, for the investigation on the situation of the artistic educations in the first ages in the nonformal education of Guatemala.

Professionally, he has developed his career in different fields, all of them within the field of humanities. He has worked, among others, for the Heritage Service of the Culture Department of the Generalitat Valenciana (1991-1993); for the Municipal Library Service of the Vall d'Uixó (1995-1997), and has served as director of the Municipal Arts Center (1999-2012) of the Burriana City Council, and of the Spanish Cultural Center in Bata, Guinea Equatorial (2013-2014), from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The teaching practice has been present throughout his professional career as a professor of the Humanities Area of Secondary Education in different educational centers, since 1992. Currently he combines the work of Associate Professor in the area of Theory and History of Education of the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics of Social Sciences, Language and Literature of the Jaume I University of Castellón with the teaching of Geography and History in Secondary Education.

Member of the Permanent Seminar on Educational Innovation, HADEODS17-Harmonies of environments for SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) -, focuses its research on the education of cultural, artistic and environmental environments for educational and social inclusion. He has published articles in different national magazines and participated in courses, seminars and conferences as a speaker.
